3 ways ahead in classified ads

Classified media advertising is now in for, not one but THREE radically new ways for advertisers to succeed with product advertising online:

  • Locally and centrally controlled automation of the entire process, from ad creation to publishing on all digital platforms
  • Affordable premium video to present regular used products in classified media
  • Expansion from traditional classified platforms to broader, faster, and more dynamic media space like YouTube and TikTok.

The triple revolution is rapidly gaining ground in the global multi-trillion dollar used car market. A rather unexpected arena for a tech revolution. We talked to Per Laredius, ad media veteran, now co-founder and Sales Director with Phyron AI.

Hi Per. Why cars? And, what can you guys actually DO today?

Used cars are sold in large volumes but every car is different, and buyers have different interests. A perfect case for “mass-customized” ads.

So ... car dealers connect their entire catalogs, meaning car databases to our online service. Our system picks up all text, data, logos, photos, links, etc, and automatically returns it to the dealer in the form of studio-quality videos and stills. A thousand or ten thousand custom-made video ads delivered within ten minutes or so.

What does it mean for the advertiser?

Total automation means less internal cost, faster to market, consistent branding … Studio-quality video means wider reach, greater impact, faster sales … video ads are ready for publishing on the dealers’ sites, in marketplaces and social media. And now, paid media too.

Major car dealer groups can have ten thousand cars or more in several locations. And carmakers may want to promote specific models or features across all dealerships ...

We can deliver thousands of unique videos, presenting the specific details of each car in a captivating way, including first class video and high-margin services for each car.

Who’s behind all this? How did it start?

Years ago, our Creative Director Jens-Peter Sjöberg worked hands-on with special effects with blockbuster movies like Lord of the Rings, Superman and Harry Potter. The real deal. He went on to work with high-end commercial films and advertising before teaming up with the other co-founders and started Phyron AI in 2019.

What’s the next step?

Now we are bringing the same technology to paid media, including YouTube and TikTok. With a bunch of new features and even higher creative standards. The service is already pre-launched with a few selected dealer groups. And more than half of our employees are in research and development so this is only the beginning.

You have barely mentioned AI?

AI is old news, we have been working with it since 2015. I'm more interested in the business benefits. But, with that said:

AI is the game changer. Our key to affordable high-quality videos on a scale. You simply choose a design template, and communicate consistently in-brand throughout your network and platforms.
